Job Description

Leonardo offers a 4‑year Manufacturing Technical Apprenticeship in Edinburgh, UK, providing paid training, on‑the‑job learning, and academic qualifications such as an SVQ Level 2, HND in Engineering Systems, and a Diploma in Engineering. The programme includes college training, rotational placements across testing and manufacturing engineering, and opportunities for further study.

• Attend college full‑time to complete SVQ Level 2 and, later, HND level qualifications.
• Participate in rotational placements covering electronic testing (laser, radar, legacy product), manufacturing engineering, and office‑based quality improvement.
• Compile written logs and portfolio evidence of daily tasks and engineering competencies.
• Follow safety instructions and process compliance, contributing to the team’s results.
• Engage in site induction, digital learning, and local STEM community projects.

• 3 Higher Grades (or equivalent) with mandatory Mathematics and Physics A‑C, or Engineering Science A‑C.
• Additional Higher subject, preferably a technological area such as Graphic Communication, Product Design, Tech Studies, or Computing, A‑C.
• Standard Grades/National 5 English A‑C.
• Motivation to learn, initiative, problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to safety and process compliance.

This role requires pre‑employment screening in line with UK BPSS. Additional checks such as National Security Vetting (SC or DV) may apply.
