This is a wonderful opportunity to join my client, a well-respected, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy, dedicated to broadening their geographical reach by establishing a brand new office location in beautiful Scotland. Known for lending their expertise to a diverse range of projects across the landscape architecture, planning, and civil engineering fields, they are actively seeking a driven, experienced Senior Civil Engineer with extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, who is willing to take on a variety of challenging new projects.

You will be working alongside a newly-established team of infrastructure design experts, based in the scenic, richly-cultural city of Edinburgh.

Responsibilities for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

Contributing to the design of an array of exciting projects and developments
Overseeing the day-to-day running of projects, from inception through to successful delivery/implementation
Mentoring and supporting colleagues through their professional development
Liaising with clients and stakeholders across the public and private sectors
Preparing and checking technical documents, including reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, risk assessments, and method statements
Adhering to company policies, procedures, and best practice, upholding the appropriate health and safety standards at all times
Acting as a company representative at client meetings, site visits, etc.

Required skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

A UK Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Civil Engineering (or a cognate discipline)
Possess Chartered Status with a relevant, recognised professional body (e.g., ICE)

Experience of working in a design-based role, within a UK-based consultancy or Local Authority setting
Considerable experience of working on infrastructure (namely highways and drainage), housing developments, and energy engineering projects

Experience of earthworks and drainage network modelling
Proficient in the use of various software packages (including Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, and others)
Considerable experience of writing and checking a variety of technical documents
Demonstrable experience of liaising with clients and stakeholders within the industry
Outstanding organisation, time management, team leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills

Desirable skills and experience for the role of Senior Civil Engineer include:

A Higher Degree (in a cognate discipline)

Experience of authoring Flood Risk Assessments

Experience of preparing Transport Assessments

Experience of leading projects/teams

Experience of working in a public-facing role
Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
