- Support teams in land access, stakeholder engagement, optioneering and statutory processes.
- Identify landowners, occupiers and other parties with interest in land through interpretation and research of Registers of Scotland information.
- Engage with landowners, land agents, legal representatives, planning authorities, stakeholders, contractors and clients.
- Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to secure land access for surveys, by agreement or statutory mechanisms.
- Contribute to the success of high‑profile infrastructure projects across Scotland, the wider UK and Ireland.
- Provide training and mentoring to junior colleagues and offer technical assurance of others’ work.
- Demonstrate commercial awareness of budget, scope, change control and project risks.
- Represent WSP at the Land Consultant level on client‑facing activities.
The Land Discipline is expanding across Scotland with projects in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and planned growth toward the Highlands, Moray and Aberdeenshire. The team delivers land referencing, acquisition, access, consents, statutory orders and stakeholder engagement for major energy, water, road, rail and active‑travel projects.
Qualifications- Strong interest in land services – land referencing, survey access, stakeholder engagement or statutory processes.
- Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams delivering high‑quality outputs.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to liaise at all levels.
- Capability to delegate and provide technical assurance to colleagues.
- Enthusiasm and drive for strong technical work.
- Ability to travel to sites and remote locations.
- General IT skills and Microsoft Office, including Teams, and basic GIS/map tools. Advanced GIS skills are advantageous.
- Knowledge of Scottish land ownership and management practices.
- Project management experience of infrastructure projects.
- Stakeholder engagement skills for infrastructure projects.
- Understanding of UK statutory consent requirements (e.g., Hybrid Bill, TWAO, DCO, CPO, Vesting Order). Experience with wayleave agreements for energy projects is beneficial.
