The Client
Our client is a well-established, multidisciplinary engineering consultancy with a strong focus on digital delivery, sustainability, and collaborative design across the built environment.
They are currently looking to appoint a BIM Technician to join their team in Edinburgh or Glasgow, working as part of a wider regional and national BIM community supporting MEP-led projects across multiple sectors.
The Role
This is an opportunity to join a digitally progressive consultancy where BIM plays a central role in design coordination, information management, and project delivery.
You’ll work closely with engineers and fellow technicians to produce accurate, well-coordinated models and drawings, contributing to efficient, high-quality design outcomes across healthcare, education, residential, and commercial projects.
This role offers the chance to join a consultancy that places digital engineering at the heart of its design approach, with access to a supportive BIM network, varied project exposure, and a culture that encourages innovation and idea-sharing. You’ll be supported in developing both your technical and digital skillset within a flexible working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Producing high-quality 3D models and 2D outputs using Autodesk Revit
* Setting up and managing MEP models, ensuring consistency and data quality
* Coordinating design information across disciplines and resolving clashes
* Reviewing and incorporating information from external models
* Supporting information management processes and use of CDE platforms (e.g., BIM 360 / ACC)
* Applying automation and productivity tools (such as Dynamo and Revit add-ins) to improve workflows
* Sharing knowledge and contributing to continuous improvement within the BIM team
What We’re Looking For
* Experience working as a BIM Technician within an MEP or building services environment
* Practical experience using Revit MEP on live projects
* Familiarity with clash detection processes and coordinated design workflows
* Understanding of ISO 19650 principles and information management standards
* Ability to manage modelling tasks independently while working collaboratively
* A proactive, detail-focused approach with an interest in improving digital processes
* Experience with AutoCAD, Solibri, and Microsoft Excel
* Interest in automation or visual programming tools (e.g., Dynamo)
Benefits
* Hybrid working
* 9-day fortnight option
* Up to 30 days annual leave
* Private medical cover
* Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme
* Share options
* Professional development and training opportunities
* Wellbeing, social, and community initiatives
