Position: Clean Water (Hydraulic) Modellers
Location: City of Edinburgh

Join our Clean Water (Hydraulic) Modelling Team at RPS and work on a prestigious SR21 Technical Consultancy Framework driven by Scottish Water. We are seeking hydraulic modellers at all levels to support water programmes in optioneering, design, and asset assessment.

You will collaborate with a skilled hydraulic team to support design projects, conduct zonal studies, and develop water engineering solutions. This ongoing work will extend into SR27 and beyond, securing your career growth.

About The Team

RPS Water Consulting comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts providing Asset Management and Operational Strategy services to the water industry. We are involved in AMP8 programmes leading into AMP9 and beyond, offering long-term career stability.

About You

Your role as a Clean Water (Hydraulic) Modeller is vital in delivering projects for our water industry clients. You will work with a multidisciplinary team on capital delivery projects, contributing to optioneering, design, and technical expertise, especially in wastewater infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities
  • Technical development and delivery of modelling projects, including scoping, building, maintenance, and studies
  • Preparing technical reports
  • Collaborating with project teams and maintaining client relationships
  • Guiding junior team members
  • Participating in client meetings
  • Ensuring quality and compliance of outputs
  • Adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
  • Expertise in water engineering, network analysis, and water modelling software (e.g., Info Works WS Pro, Synergi)
  • Teamwork and technical guidance skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project, GIS systems
  • Coding skills (Ruby, Python) are desirable but not essential
Qualifications
  • Degree in a relevant technical field; postgraduate qualifications are a plus
  • Full clean driving license; willingness to travel to sites and offices
