Financial Services Audit Senior / Supervisor

Join our Financial Services Audit team at Johnston Carmichael Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers. This is a full‑time role based primarily in Scotland, with opportunities to work on clients in North England and London.

The Audit Senior/Supervisor will manage day‑to‑day audit work, flag issues early, train audit assistants, meet deadlines and budgets, and present a complete, good‑standard audit file for review.

• Complete or oversee audit planning documentation.
• Arrange timing of audit work with the Audit Manager.
• Plan, schedule and delegate work to Assistants, ensuring complex tasks are completed promptly and at a high standard.
• Brief, train and debrief Assistants, providing formal feedback.
• Liaise with client staff and build effective relationships.
• Monitor budgeted versus actual time, flagging scope, fieldwork and over‑run issues to the Audit Manager promptly.
• Keep client staff informed of progress and issues while maintaining confidentiality.

• Qualified CA (or equivalent) and above; part‑qualified candidates may be considered with sufficient experience.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with clients and colleagues.
• Excellent organisational and proactive work style.
• Relevant experience in a similar role preferred.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to positively influence others.
• Leadership in your work and professional learning.
