Location: City of Edinburgh

iMultiply is supporting a prestigious and well-established legal firm based in Edinburgh to recruit a full-time Billing Assistant on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a high-performing and respected organisation with a strong reputation in the legal sector.

The Role

This role sits within a supportive and collaborative finance team and will play a key part in ensuring the smooth and compliant financial operations of the firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of legal cashiering duties, working closely with colleagues across finance, legal, and administrative teams.

Responsibilities
  • Processing client and office account transactions in line with Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules
  • Daily bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
  • Handling incoming and outgoing payments including BACS, CHAPS, and online banking
  • Monitoring and allocating client funds, ensuring compliance with anti‑money‑laundering procedures
  • Assisting with month‑end and year‑end financial processes and reporting
  • Processing purchase ledger and staff expenses
  • Liaising with fee earners and support staff on finance‑related matters
  • Supporting internal and external audit requirements
  • Maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records
  • Other ad‑hoc duties as required
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a high-volume Billing or similar finance role
  • Strong knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules
  • Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft Excel and legal accounting software
  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines
  • Proactive and organised approach to workload
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical conduct
  • Willingness to contribute to a collaborative and supportive team environment
