Community services play a vital role in helping people live independently, safely, and with dignity. ASA is now recruiting experienced Support Workers with a complex care and forensic background to join our team across Edinburgh.

Driver Only Role – applications from non-drivers will not be considered.

This position is designed for skilled Support Workers who can confidently support adults with complex needs, forensic histories, and significant risk profiles. As this is a driver only role
, you will be responsible for transporting individuals safely to appointments, community activities and essential services.

• Provide trauma informed, person centred support to adults with learning disabilities, helping them live independently and safely.
• Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, medication support and household tasks.
• Support individuals in developing life skills such as budgeting, cooking, travel training, and social interaction.
• Encourage participation in meaningful activities, hobbies and community engagement to promote confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
• Support individuals in managing challenging behaviours using de-escalation techniques and following personalised risk management plans.
• Maintain accurate records, monitor changes in behaviour or wellbeing and communicate effectively with families and multi-agency teams, including social work, GPs and allied health professionals.
• Advocate for individual’s rights, choices, and preferences, ensuring they are empowered in decision making and day to day life.

• Experienced Support Worker in complex care or similar
• Understanding of community care, reablement, and justice services.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build trust quickly.
• PVG membership or willingness to update.
• Confidence working autonomously, including lone working.
• Valid driver’s licence and willingness to drive service user vehicles
