Roles Available within Data and Tech

Behavioural Change

Relevant Degree 2:2 or above in one of the following: Psychology ,HR with Psychology, Marketing with Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Life Sciences.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll join cyber meetings and explore how behaviour influences digital safety. Using psychology tools like nudge theory, positive reinforcement, and behavioural analysis, you’ll help shape events, communications, and support networks that make cyber security easy to understand and follow.

You’ll work with both office and field teams and present your insights to senior leaders in a clear, engaging way—making a real impact.

Data Analytics

You’ll work with operational data, such as energy flow, usage and voltage, as well as data associated with network equipment like cables, overhead lines and switch gear. Additionally, you will analyse business, financial, process and geospatial data using your data science skills to transform this information into valuable insights that inform business decisions and shape future strategies.

What you’ll bring
  • A 2:2 or above in Business Analysis,Business Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Data Science, Other Similar Degree.
Business Analyst

Relevant Degree: 2.2 Degree in Business Management, Business information systems, Computer Science, Business Analytics.

What you’ll be doing

As a graduate business analyst at Scottish Power, you’ll work with data across the organisation — from financial performance and operational metrics to customer insights and market trends. You’ll assess business processes, evaluate technology solutions, and contribute to strategic initiatives. Your analysis will help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, support decision-making, and drive innovation across the business.

Data Protection

Relevant Degree: 2:2 or above in Law, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Business/Management Information Systems.

What you’ll be doing

Get hands‑on with data privacy, security, and compliance in the energy sector. You’ll help map and manage data, support incident response, and shape policies that protect critical information. From cloud migration to automation projects, you’ll work with teams across IT, legal, operations, and engineering—building real‑world skills in a fast‑moving digital space.

Digital

Relevant Degree:
Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Geographical Systems or similar.

What you’ll be doing

Engaging with a diverse range of projects that span across fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, and Geographical Systems. You’ll learn to take on roles like software development, data analysis, systems management, and IT consulting. This experience will equip you to tackle complex problems, innovate solutions, and drive efficiencies, all while contributing to our mission of leveraging data to create impactful results within our organisation.
