You’ll join a Creative Team of Content Designers, Digital Designers, User Researchers and Front‑end Developers, collaborating together to deliver user‑centred, accessible websites and services.
About the RoleContent Designer
Responsibilities- Design and iterate content for end‑to‑end user journeys, from transactional services to content‑managed websites based on user and business needs.
- Translate complex information (policy, legal, technical) into clear, concise and understandable content and interfaces for different audiences.
- Work closely with designers and user researchers to define information architecture, content types, patterns and components.
- Ensure content is implemented as intended and works well across devices and contexts.
- Use research, usability testing and analytics to identify content problems and opportunities, then iterate based on what you learn.
- Use a variety of prototyping methods from paper sketches to Figma to HTML to make thinking and strategy tangible early.
- Contribute to content strategies, guidelines, and content design principles for our clients.
- Help maintain and evolve content types, patterns, components, and style guides across services.
- Facilitate or support workshops with stakeholders to understand business and user needs, agree on goals and get to shared decisions.
- Ensure all content meets accessibility standards and is inclusive by design.
- Contribute to the Creative Team at Storm – sharing what you learn and helping to improve our ways of working.
- Experience as a content designer, copywriter, UX writer or similar role, ideally in an agency or multi‑project environment.
- Experience working across user needs, mapping journeys, and turning complex policy or business requirements into plain English in an accessible, inclusive way.
- The ability to work with data and evidence: user research, analytics, stakeholder input, and experimentation, you’re happy to change course when the data tells you to.
- Confidence presenting your work, explaining the rationale and challenging assumptions in a constructive way.
- The ability to manage your time across multiple work streams, delivering to deadlines without losing attention to detail.
- Familiarity with (or keen to learn) GDS‑style content patterns, service standards and accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.2).
- A desire to collaborate with designers, user researchers and front‑end developers in agile teams.
- The ability to organise your workload, prioritising tasks and maintaining an excellent level of detail.
- An interest in how AI can be used to compliment your work and improve efficiency.
- Demonstrable passion about design and technology.
