Job Description
Joining us as a Boots Healthcare Logistics Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity. You’ll deliver first‑class care to those in the community who might otherwise never visit a Boots store. You’ll be part of a unique service that prioritises the patient behind the parcel—this role offers so much more than other delivery positions.
About the roleYou will report into the Healthcare Logistics Manager and be responsible for providing outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from Care Homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and other Boots stores within an allocated route time. You will ensure timely and accurate deliveries while following safety protocols, using a vehicle maintained by Boots, and a handheld device that provides pre‑planned routing and satellite navigation.
- Build great relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
- Follow standards, operating policies and health and safety procedures.
- Drive safely and legally.
- Keep your vehicle maintained and clean, reporting any damage or issues.
- Feedback relevant customer comments and concerns and make suggestions on how the operation can be improved.

- A minimum of 1 year’s driving experience.
- Ability to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
- Enjoy following process and working at pace to achieve service levels and targets.
- Physical stamina and capability to work in a manually demanding role with heavy lifting.
- Comfortable using new technology.
- Calm in the face of unexpected changes or challenges.
- Comfortable in new situations and meeting new people.
- A genuine desire to help people and provide legendary care.
- Basic numeracy skills.
- Experience in a driving role.

Informationabout the role
We are looking for drivers who can be flexible to meet our customers’ needs. Your basic hours will be 30 per week, with 5 days – Monday to Saturday. You will cover AM, PM, evenings, weekend shifts and normal start/finish times will be 8:45 AM to 1 PM, 1:45 PM to 5 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM. You will be on‑call for a further two shifts per week as a minimum, to cover extra deliveries as needed by our customers.
