The Traverse Theatre is currently looking for an experienced & pro-active Programme & Producing Manager to lead our team in the planning and delivery approach to our programme and artistic activities.
Key Responsibilities- To lead on all planning activity for the Programme & Producing dept, ensuring robust & achievable plans are prepared that assess and manage risk.
- To develop & deliver programme planning & delivery processes for the organisation that have ‘buy-in’ across teams to ensure projects & programmes are planned & delivered to a high standard & resources are deployed efficiently & within capacity.
- To work closely with Programme & Producing Team & the Head of Production in the planning & delivery of activities that meet objectives within available capacity.
- To support the Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer with the reporting requirements of the organisation, including but not limited to Creative Scotland.
- To develop & deliver evaluation processes for the organisation that have ‘buy-in’ across teams to ensure projects & programmes are appropriately evaluated in order to meet reporting requirements & to inform improvements.
- Drive & build strategic programming relationships with Companies, Artists & Co-producers, nationally & internationally.
- Work with the team to deliver a sustainable & ambitious touring agenda, new media opportunities & future life for Traverse Theatre works.
- Deliver for & co‑develop a business plan that upholds the Traverse’s values through programme & audience development.
- As part of the Senior Management Team, deliver a creatively ambitious programme that is financially sustainable.
- Support the Traverse in its ongoing organisational development.
- Significant team management experience in the arts & cultural sector.
- Proven ability to plan, produce & deliver projects to a high standard & on budget.
- Creative thinking & problem‑solving ability.
- Proven budgetary skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, influence & advocate.
- Experienced in the assessment & management of risk.
- Demonstrable understanding of the funding landscape & reporting requirements.
- Demonstrable understanding of the local & national theatre sector.
- Significant experience of working with artists to realise ideas.
Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum. This is a permanent, full‑time role.
