Hours:
37 (will reduce in April 2026 in line with reduced work week) – Salary Scale: £41,608–£50,702 pro‑rata.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a registered nurse to join the busy Rheumatology research team based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. The post holder will help support a number of exciting clinical research projects enhancing the clinical care of patients with rheumatic conditions. The post will involve identifying, screening and recruitment activities as well as assisting with the care of the research participant while they are taking part in the research.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, screen, and recruit participants for clinical research studies.
- Assist with the care of research participants during their involvement in the study.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of clinical research projects to improve patient care.
- Registered nurse with clinical experience.
- Informed consent processes and data collection competence.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- PVG Scheme membership/record required; if not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (child and/or adult) an application to Disclosure Scotland will be required before commencement.
Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a regulated role, your appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme. If there is any change to what is currently required, this will be confirmed by either the hiring manager or the recruitment team.
