Senior Social Worker – Children’s Services (Edinburgh)Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Social Worker to provide high‑quality support for children and families. Full‑time commitment to fieldwork and office duties in the Edinburgh area.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake comprehensive assessments of children and families’ needs.
- Develop and review care plans to ensure safety and well‑being.
- Manage a complex caseload and provide direct intervention.
- Liaise with police, health services, education, etc.
- Prepare court reports and represent the service in legal proceedings.
- Maintain accurate case records and use relevant IT systems.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences and multi‑agency forums.
Qualifications:
- BA/BSc (Hons) in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with Social Work England or relevant Scottish body.
- Significant post‑qualifying experience in children’s social work.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding.
- Excellent assessment, analytical and report‑writing skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for fieldwork.
