Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Hybrid in Edinburgh

Salary : £80,000 - £90,000

We are scaling one of the most impressive AI engineering teams in Europe and looking for a Senior AI Engineer to help drive the next generation of intelligent features across a global SaaS platform.

You’ll be part of the hybrid engineering team in Edinburgh, collaborating with squads across the UK. This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead complex AI projects, influence technical direction and help expand AI workflows already used by thousands of customers.

• Lead the design and delivery of medium to large AI features and platform enhancements
• Partner with Product and Design to shape the AI
• Mentor engineers across squads and raise engineering standards
• Build and optimise distributed, API first systems powering AI workflows
• Drive observability, testing, operational excellence and cost optimisation
• Prototype new AI powered features to enhance user experience

• Consistently delivering technically strong, user focused AI features
• Raising the technical bar across squads through mentorship and best practices
• Translating business opportunities into scalable, safe AI solutions
• Improving reliability, performance and cost efficiency of AI systems

• Deep experience in distributed systems and multi tenant SaaS
• Strong understanding of security and compliance for AI workloads
• Experience with vector databases such as Open Search or Elasticsearch
• Familiarity with Graph
  
  RAG or knowledge graph based approaches
• Strong grounding in LLM architectures, fine tuning and agentic workflows
• MLOps experience covering deployment, versioning and monitoring
• Observability experience for distributed AI systems
• Data ingestion experience for vector and graph stores
• CI / CD automation for both software and ML pipelines
• Full stack background with Python and Typescript
• AWS serverless and Dev Ops familiarity
• Around 5 to 9 years engineering experience
