We are seeking an experienced Paving Foreman, including those with experience as an Asphalt Foreman, Asphalt Paving Foreman, or Paving Supervisor, to lead our mainline paving crew. The successful candidate will support our Core Purpose, which is Building Positive Change in our Communities, and will demonstrate our Core Values of Commitment, Attitude, and Respect.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the mainline paving crew working on municipal, subdivision, commercial, and overlay projectsOperate and oversee safe use of paving equipment, including paver, screed, and rollerEnsure high quality asphalt laydown, meeting mat quality and compaction standardsCoordinate daily production with the superintendentComplete required paperwork accurately each dayPromote and maintain a strong safety culture, and ensure all crew members follow company and provincial safety proceduresTrain, mentor, and support crew members to maintain a positive, accountable team environmentPerform other related duties as assignedRequired Skills and Experience
A minimum of five years experience in road constructionA minimum of three years experience supervising paving crewsExperience operating pavers, rollers, and screedsStrong understanding of asphalt paving processes, grades, slopes, and municipal paving standardsValid Class 5 drivers’ licence with a clean abstractAbility to work extended hours and weekends when requiredStrong communication skills and high attention to detailAbility to work in a variety of weather conditionsAble to work independently and as part of a teamAdditional Considerations
WHMIS, CSTS or RSTS, and First AidExperience with City of Edmonton and Alberta Transportation specifications is an assetGoogle Suite (Docs and Sheets) experience is an assetRole Expectations
