Reporting to the Manager of Environmental Health, Safety & Security at Redwater, the Senior Advisor, Industrial Hygiene safeguards the health and wellbeing of employees and the surrounding community. The role primarily supports the Redwater facility (60%) and, as required, Fort Saskatchewan, Joffre, and Carseland sites. It involves regular interaction with personnel across all levels and approximately 15–20% travel.

The incumbent serves as the primary Industrial Hygiene contact for Redwater and mentors hygiene and safety personnel at other Alberta manufacturing sites. The role ensures compliance with provincial and federal regulations and alignment with Nutrien’s internal standards, programs, and policies. Advanced expertise in industrial hygiene practices is required to identify, assess, and mitigate hazards related to chemical, biological, and physical agents.

A deep understanding of plant operations, toxicology, physiology, risk assessment and control methodologies is essential. The successful candidate is a self‑starter, competent in developing and implementing effective programs independently, skilled in interpreting technical data to make evidence‑based decisions, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, capable of mentoring and collaborating in team environments, and possesses strong communication, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
