Project Delivery Lead
Telecommunications

Edmonton, Alberta

Compensation $135-$1145K base + bonus + benefits (Relocation assistance may be provided)

OUR CLIENT

We are seeking an experienced Project Delivery Lead to oversee the successful execution of wireline and wireless telecommunications construction projects. This role blends project delivery, operations management, and technical leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to quality standards. The ideal candidate brings strong field and operational experience, understands telecom construction environments, and can lead cross-functional teams across multiple concurrent projects.

This position is well-suited for professionals with backgrounds as Senior Project Managers, Operations Managers, Construction Managers, or Program Leads within the telecommunications sector.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 8+ years of experience in telecommunications construction, project delivery, or operations management.
  • Strong knowledge of wireline and wireless telecom infrastructure, including fiber, RF systems, towers, small cells, and in-building solutions.
  • Proven experience leading multi-project portfolios and large, field-based teams.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, and productivity metrics.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and contract management.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Assets

  • Background as a Project Manager, Operations Manager, Construction Manager, or Program Manager in telecom.
  • Experience working with major carriers and network operators.
  • Familiarity with SAP, project controls systems, or telecom-specific project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Canadian telecom standards and regulatory environments.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of wireline and wireless telecommunications construction projects, from planning through close-out.
  • Ensure projects meet schedule, budget, scope, quality, and safety requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and execution strategies.
  • Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation plans.
  • Provide regular reporting on project status, costs, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
  • Oversee daily project operations across multiple active projects and crews.
  • Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and external partners.
  • Support workforce planning, productivity tracking, and resource allocation.
  • Drive consistency in execution through standardized processes and best practices.
  • Mentor project managers, coordinators, supervisors, and field leaders.
  • Provide technical guidance on wireline (fiber, coax, copper) and wireless (macro, small cell, DAS) construction activities.
  • Review construction methodologies, drawings, and work packages for constructability.
  • Ensure compliance with carrier standards, engineering requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Support issue resolution related to RF, civil, structural, electrical, and network installation challenges.
  • Support estimating, budgeting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, and unit-rate pricing.
  • Track financial performance, approve expenditures, and manage change orders.
  • Drive margin improvement through operational efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Ensure quality standards, inspection processes, and documentation are followed.
  • Address non-conformance issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, carriers, and key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and delivery excellence.
  • Support business development efforts through operational input and delivery credibility.
