About the position
DutiesHave you ever wanted to work at a national park for the summer? Do you have a passion for the outdoors? Do you enjoy working with the public? Are you someone that likes to work in a fast paced, team oriented, problem solving environment? If so, then this might be the job for you!
We are looking to hire outgoing, responsible, team focused Visitor Services Attendants to work at the Park Entry Gates, Campgrounds kiosks, and the Visitor Information Centre in Elk Island National Park.
Working as part of the Visitor Services Attendant team, you will be responsible for:
- Welcoming visitors into the park.
- Revenue collection at the various locations.
- Providing comprehensive information to the visiting public on a wide variety of topics including but not limited to: entry fees and permits, camping, trails, outdoor recreation, points of interest, safety, and park regulations and policies.

Conditions of employment
Security Screening:Obtain and maintain Reliability Status Clearance.
Obtain and maintain valid class 5 license.
Operational Requirements
Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and prescribed protective equipment/Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
Willingness to perform duties in various locations within the park.
The position requires the incumbent to:
Work alone with little to no supervision.
Have reliable transportation to get to and from workplace.
