Teaching Assistant Volunteer (Virtual)

York Region Educational Services (YRES) is dedicated to leading community volunteerism as a proud recipient of Canada’s Volunteer Award, through providing a wide range of volunteer positions in communities in the Greater Vancouver Area, Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa, and Alberta.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant Volunteer—someone devoted to giving back to their community, making an impact, and who loves sharing knowledge.

Responsibilities
  • Work in a team to plan and create a curriculum
  • Design informative slide shows to accompany lessons
  • Teach lessons to kids over Zoom or Google Meet
  • Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for everyone
  • Signing in shift on time

Requirements
  • Minimum age: 12
  • Passionate about volunteering and open to learning new skills and software

Assets
  • Fluency/high proficiency in a language other than English
  • Previous volunteer experience
