Job Description: Q-Block Computing is seeking a Senior Quantum Scientist to join our innovative team in Canada. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge quantum technologies in sensing, communication, and computation. The candidate will join Q-Block Computing Research for the experimental developments of cavity-coupled neutral atom tweezer array for quantum simulation and computation, as well as commercialization research in quantum communication and sensing.

Job summary: As a Senior Quantum Scientist, you will collaborate with other team members, design research projects, and manage a small team of researchers. Job duty includes the opportunities for project development and grant proposal writing to initiate government-sponsored research programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute complex atomic molecular optical (AMO) physics experiments.
  • Lead a small research team, and mentor junior researchers.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Analyze data and interpret results to inform engineering decisions and enhance laboratory capabilities.
  • Stay updated with the latest research in quantum science and technology.
  • Monthly progress reporting and follow best practices in research data management.

Qualification

  • PhD in Physics, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of professional experience.
  • Proven track record in experimental quantum information science, or related areas, with particular focus on atomic molecular optical physics.

  • Strong attention to detail, authenticity, and a sense of responsibility in all laboratory tasks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving mindset
  • Ability to adapt to fast-moving R&D environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaborative in a dynamic team environment
