Overview
Paladin Security is looking for dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our Healthcare Security team in Valleyview
. As a Healthcare Security Guard, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety of patients, clinical staff, visitors, and the general public. This position requires strong customer service skills, the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, and a passion for helping people.
Healthcare Security provides meaningful hands-on experience in conflict de-escalation, violence prevention, emergency response, and patient interaction—experience that often leads to careers in policing, corrections, or advanced security operations.
Responsibilities
Monitor patient safety and report concerns to Protective Services or Clinical staffReport all incidents based on site proceduresRespond to alarms and emergency calls for assistanceFollow and enforce safety regulations, codes, and protocolsHandle confidential and sensitive information professionallyUse two-way radios and computer systems to communicate site updatesScreen and assist visitors and clients respectfully and professionallyRespond to, de-escalate, and manage high-stress situationsEnsure safety of all stakeholders through proper intervention and conflict managementLog and document incidents from hospital staff, patients, or visitorsMaintain detailed records of all patient interactionsRespond promptly to emergency assistance requestsRequirements
Must live within 30 mins of WabascaMust be available days, evenings, and nightsMust be available 7 days a weekAvailability for varied shifts including overnights and weekendsAbility to obtain Alberta Security LicenseValid Class 5 driver’s license + personal vehicleStrong written and verbal communication skillsProfessional, tactful, and customer-focused demeanorAbility to write thorough reports and maintain logsSound decision-making skills under pressureAbility to maintain confidentialityAbility to walk 18–20 km per shift and climb stairsAuthorized to work in CanadaBenefits
