In this position you will have the opportunity to:
Conduct safety inspections in accordance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety RegulationsIdentify FMCSR violations and implement corrective action plans with driversConduct driver onboarding safety and compliance training as well as ongoing remedial training activitiesMonitor and document driver compliance in accordance with all Safety and Regulatory requirementsPerform on site accident inspections and assist Safety& compliance Manager in completion of required reportingManage regional By-Product Business operational activitiesLead regional By-products strategic Sales effort to determine and set external customer base, pricing, and service levelsCollaborate with LP Procurement to identify and secure sustainable by-products marketsLead regional Driver management efforts including driver performance reviews, analyze and implement problem resolution(between dispatch, customers, etc….) and manage driver transactional concerns revolving around revenue/payment concernsLead regional flatbed Sales efforts for current as well as new customers including negotiating pricing, business commitments, andservice levels in order to cultivate additional business from current customers and generate new customer business volumesCoordinate with Recruiting Manager to build driver base based on supporting customer requirementsLead regional efforts in identifying transportation efficiency improvement opportunities or to support Corporate initiatives at theregional levelPerform basic accounting functions necessary to account for by-products movementsOperate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance with Corporate PolicyTravel requiredWhat do I need to be successful?
6+ years’ previous logistics transportation experience, including supervisory experienceDemonstrated front line experience with customer Sales and Driver recruitmentThorough knowledge of trucking industry including DOT Rules and RegulationsAbility to lead and motivate individuals and teams to achieve program and project objectivesDemonstrated knowledge of geography, routing, climatology and their associated effects on modal dynamicsDemonstrated effective management methods, organizational and team building skills.Knowledge of relevant regulations for corporate and government compliance.Knowledge and understanding of key lane and geographic regions and the factors which affect capacity balanceStrong interpersonal and Sales skills to support relationship building, customer growth, and driver recruitmentAbility to operate a computer and supporting softwareEducation
High school diploma or equivalent;
Bachelors degree preferredWork Environment
