Balfour Beatty plc has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Controller on our ASTI projects.

As a Cost Controller, you will report directly to the Senior Finance Manager and interface with the Site Project Team, HR, and Balfour Beatty Newcastle and wider finance teams.

• Assisting the project team with cost queries and gaining backup/validation to costs
• Supporting the Commercial function by ensuring correct cost allocation and running weekly cost reports
• Variance analysis of actual vs forecast costs
• Monitoring and tracking of costs
• Performing any additional tasks to assist the Senior Finance Manager or project staff
• Liaising with external suppliers and contractors
• Working with client stakeholders to facilitate audits and provide cost samples for audit validation
• Supporting Finance Manager and Commercial Lead with ad‑hoc analysis
• Flexible position—may be project‑based or office‑based, but site travel will be required

• Highly organised and able to work on own initiative
• Ability to review and prioritise tasks accurately
• Strong IT literacy, preferably with Oracle R12 accounts system (not essential)
• Full driving licence
• Understanding of Oracle R12 CVR (link between Commercial Project reporting and Financial Project reporting)
