Moray Occupational Therapy Service

Occupational Therapist – Band 5
Hours – 37 hours per week
1 post – Permanent
Location – Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin

This role provides an exciting opportunity to join our Dr Grays Hospital (DGH) in-patient team as part of the wider Moray Occupational Therapy service. You will deliver prompt triage, assessment and treatment of patients to maximise independence and facilitate timely discharge within a multidisciplinary team. In addition, you will work closely with the therapy‑led Discharge 2 Assess (D2A) team to activate early-supported discharge home.

• Provide inpatient occupational therapy services in acute medical, emergency, surgical, and geriatric wards.
• Deliver community and primary‑care therapeutic interventions where required.
• Co‑ordinate and collaborate with the D2A team to plan early-supported discharge.
• Participate in MDT meetings, quality review, audit and personal development activities.

• Registered Occupational Therapist with NHS Scotland.
• For newly qualified practitioners: mentoring and support will be provided to complete Flying Start and Occupational Therapy Pre‑ceptorship programmes within the first 12 months.
• Strong organisational skills, ability to prioritise workload and adapt within a busy district general hospital setting.
