CYP Community Learning Disability Nurse - Ellesmere Port and ChesterThe closing date is 23 January 2026
We're looking for an enthusiastic Learning Disability Nurse to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in Ellesmere Port and Chester. This role is for a Band 5 nurse passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities.
You will:
- Provide specialised support to children with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
- Deliver group training for parents, caregivers, and professionals.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team for person‑centred care.
- Receive tailored training to lead parent and professional sessions confidently.

Main duties of the jobYour Role at LD CAMHS
As a key team member, you will:
- Conduct Assessments:
Evaluate behaviours of concern for young people (0-18), identify causes, and develop tailored intervention plans. - Design Person-Centred Interventions: Create and implement plans that meet individual needs, improving quality of life.
- Apply Positive Behaviour Support (PBS): Use PBS principles to assist families effectively. Training will be provided if needed.
- Facilitate Training: Deliver practical sessions for parents, caregivers, and professionals, with full preparation and support.
- Collaborate with Experts: Work with Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Support Workers, Psychologists, and a Psychiatrist to provide holistic care.
Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) provides health and care services for a population of over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care, as well as the provision of three GP surgeries in Cheshire.
