An exciting permanent opportunity has opened for a Veterinary Surgeon to become part of our friendly and supportive team here at Isle Vets. We pride ourselves on delivering outstanding care to our clients and their pets, and we’re seeking a driven vet with at least two years of experience to join us on this journey.
Role and ScheduleThis role is based on a four-day week up to 40 hours, with just 1 in 3 Saturday mornings and 1 night per week on call. Although full-time, we’re happy to discuss part-time hours for the right candidate. Salary up to £65,000 DOE.
ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will enjoy a good balance between consulting and operating on a variety of routine and urgent cases. We can accommodate a consult-only role if preferred. Our work includes:
- Dentals, orthopedics, thyroidectomies, scans, and soft tissue surgeries
- Endoscope use and brand-new DR x-ray machine
- In-house testing in our state-of-the-art lab
We are a busy first-opinion practice in a purpose-built building in Ely, Cambridgeshire, with a large range of veterinary equipment including a brand-new x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope and dental x-ray. We have an experienced and supportive team that fosters a positive working environment.
Team and CollaborationOur team includes:
- 6 veterinarians with various areas of interest and enhanced knowledge (including diagnostic imaging cert)
- A visiting orthopedic surgeon and ECC Nurse, with ongoing opportunities for certificate study
- 8 nurses with specialisms in wound care, ISFM certification, and Emergency/ Critical Care
- A visiting orthopedic specialist who joins regularly for collaboration
We’re proud to work closely with local charities such as WGAS and the RSPCA, and exclusively with Cats Protection Ely and Downham Market. These partnerships provide a wide variety of cases and meaningful work.
