Birmingham, Redditch Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 Job Type: Full Time, Permanent An established and growing freight forwarding business is seeking an experienced Senior Freight Operations Coordinator to join its operations team. This role would suit a strong all-round operator with a background in sea freight and a hands-on approach to managing complex shipments and key customer relationships.

Job Role:

Manage sea freight import and export shipments end-to-end Liaise with carriers, overseas agents, hauliers, and internal teams Handle customs processes, documentation, and clearance coordination Finalise bookings, review costs, and ensure accurate invoicing Monitor charges such as demurrage and quay rent and resolve disputes Produce and check shipping documentation (HBLs / MBLs where required) Act as an escalation point for operational issues and delays Support service delivery on key or high-volume accounts Contribute to process improvements and operational best practice

Job Requirements:

Proven experience in freight forwarding operations (sea freight essential) Strong understanding of import/export procedures and customs processes Experience working with carriers and managing operational disruptions High attention to detail with strong organisational skills Confident communicator with a customer-focused mindset Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously Experience in European road freight is beneficial but not essential WR Logistics are the 1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
