We are seeking a Software Test Engineer to join our clients dynamic team. This role involves building and testing software to support the company's products and services. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience in software testing, particularly for PCs running Windows.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Build and test software to support the company's products and services
• Produce and maintain software build and software test specifications
• Serve as a technical liaison within and outside the organisation, with customers, and collaborators on software-related matters
• Improve the testability of software by identifying and implementing enhancements
• Undertake additional project tasks as required by management
• Perform any other tasks associated with this role, including occasional travel to visit and sail with ships in the UK and abroad

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Technical background with a good understanding of the Software Engineering Lifecycle, particularly test and integration
• Proficiency in scripting/programming languages to help automate builds and testing
• Good communication skills and proficiency with MS Office
• At least 1 year's practical experience of testing software for PCs running Windows
• Experience in writing test plans, specifications, and reports
• Experience in building software & software installers is desirable
• Experience in a similar position within a Technical/Engineering organisation is preferred
• Good Engineering Degree with Software Content or equivalent (lower qualification considered if backed up by relevant experience)
