We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Orthotist to join our dedicated Orthotics team at Epsom General Hospital.
As part of the Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust, Epsom General Hospital provides a wide range of specialist and acute services. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a forward-thinking, patient-centred service committed to delivering high-quality orthotic care.
The successful candidate will become a valued member of our multi-disciplinary team (MDT), contributing to the assessment and management of a varied and rewarding caseload. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of clinical areas, including musculoskeletal and diabetic clinics.
This role offers excellent opportunities for professional growth, participation in service development, and collaboration with a supportive and experienced MDT.
Working at Opare Clinical Services (OCS)Opcare’s clinics in London and surrounding areas (OCS) cover 13 NHS Trusts – some of the most prestige Trusts in London. This includes Great Ormond Street (GOSH), The National Hospital of Neuro and Neurosurgery (NHNN), University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and Chelsea and Westminster.
OCS is proud to deliver some of the leading multi-disciplinary clinics in the UK, including a joint diabetic clinic with a world-renowned diabetic podiatry surgeon, a complex neuro clinic at NHNN, a specialist scoliosis service, advanced paediatric clinics at Great Osmond Street and complex Knee-Ankle-Foot-Orthoses (KAFO) clinics. These clinics provide an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of orthotic care alongside top-tier clinicians and specialists.
We aim to deliver a first-class service for users whilst applying the most advanced clinical and technical solutions available to patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care for all patients and the smooth running of the service.
- Working closely with MDT’s.
- Inputting and leading on initiatives within the service development plan.
- Conduct comprehensive assessment of patients to determine their orthotic needs.
- Develop and implement personalised orthotic treatment plans.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in orthotic technology and practices.
- Provide excellent patient care, education, and support throughout the treatment process.
- Assessing, measuring, casting, fitting, suppling, reviewing and adjusting orthoses as required.
- Maintaining appropriate clinical notes.
- Demonstrated experience of complex casework
- Self-starter with a flexible and pro-active approach.
- Ability to build strong working relationships through effective verbal and written communication.
The successful candidate must possess one of the following qualifications:
- Certified Orthotist
- HND Orthotics
- BSc Orthotics
And in addition, must have:
- Full HCPC Registration
- The ability to meet the requirements of an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) Check
- Competitive market salary
