Engineering Supervisor - £55,000 - Food Manufacturing - Colchester

Are you an experienced engineering professional looking for a hands-on leadership role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment? We are currently recruiting for an Engineering Supervisor to lead and inspire a multi-skilled team of engineers in a busy prepared foods facility.

As the Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment. You'll oversee maintenance activities, manage planned and reactive repairs, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement across the site. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong electrical, mechanical, and automation experience, including PLC fault-finding, who thrives in a dynamic, high-pressure production environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching, and developing a team of engineers across all shifts.
• Managing maintenance schedules, spare parts, and external contractors.
• Diagnosing and resolving electrical and PLC-related issues on automated production equipment.
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety, food safety, and regulatory standards.
• Supporting installation and commissioning of new equipment and improvement projects.

The successful candidate will have experience in supervisory or leadership roles within food manufacturing or FMCG, strong technical expertise, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) is required.
