Band 8a Senior Pharmacist – Biologics and Homecare

Rate: £40 - £46/hour (Dependant on experience)

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Clinical Pharmacist to lead and manage the Biologics and Homecare Services within this East of England NHS Trust, with additional responsibility for ward-based clinical cover, including prescription screening and medication ordering.

This is a key leadership role in the pharmacy team, providing expert clinical input across specialist services while ensuring safe, effective, and patient-focused use of high-cost and homecare medicines.

• Overseeing the commissioning, procurement, and safe use of biologic therapies across multiple specialities
• Managing and developing the trusts homecare medicines service, ensuring robust governance, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality patient experience.
• Working with specialist teams to support initiation, monitoring, and ongoing use of high-cost drugs, in line with NICE and commissioning guidelines.
• Leading on audit, reporting, and service improvement for homecare and biologics
• Provide clinical ward cover, including prescription screening and medication ordering to support safe and timely patient care
• Offer expert advice to clinical teams on complex medicines use, including biologics and other specialist treatments
• Support the training and development of junior staff across the pharmacy service

• GPhC Registration
• Previous experience at a senior level
• Proven expertise in biologics, high-cost drugs, and/or homecare services
• Strong clinical background and ability to provide effective ward-based pharmacy support
• Experience in service development, project management, sand working with commissioners or specialist MDTs.
