you’ll do on a typical day:
- Provide expert guidance to line managers on complex employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance cases, performance management, and formal investigations, ensuring adherence to employment law and company policies.
- Analyse and interpret HR data to identify trends in headcount, turnover, and absence, producing insightful reports that inform strategic decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead the end-to-end absence management process, including conducting welfare and health review meetings, managing occupational health referrals, and implementing proactive measures to reduce absenteeism.
- Partner with managers to deliver a robust recruitment and talent development strategy, supporting workforce planning, onboarding, and capability-building initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Oversee the integrity of HR administration and systems throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, ethical standards, and internal audits while driving process efficiency.
- Contribute to cultural and behavioural change programmes, promoting engagement, equality of opportunity, and a positive working environment that reflects GXO’s values.
- Experience in a similar HR generalist role
- Strong knowledge of Employment Law and HR best practices
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- CIPD qualified or working towards (preferred)
