Area Manager - Essex

Join bp's convenience retail business as an Area Manager covering the Essex region. Oversee 20–25 company-owned stores and ~500 colleagues across East Anglia.

You'll lead portfolios of stores, drive profitability, maintain safety, and ensure outstanding customer service while championing change and growth.

• Lead and inspire store managers to deliver exceptional performance.
• Drive profitability while ensuring safety and customer service standards.
• Champion a strong people agenda — talent development, DE&I, succession planning.
• Deliver flawless execution of business strategies, promotions, and transformation initiatives.
• Conduct regular business reviews, performance assessments, and action planning.

• Experience leading multi-site retail teams.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Exceptional leadership, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage performance and lead change with courage and clarity.
• Self-starter attitude with passion for retail excellence and innovation.
• Field and in-store leadership experience in convenience, grocery or FMCG sectors.
• Full, clean driving licence.
