This role will cover Basildon and Chelmsford, providing holiday and sickness cover for our clients. A highly skilled, SIA Licensed Security Officer is required, with the potential to be assigned a fixed shift pattern when opportunities arise.

What you will need
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front‑Line License – essential.
  • A valid UK Driving License – essential to travel between Chelmsford and Basildon.
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel).
  • Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards.
What are you going to do
  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
  • Ensure patrols are carried out to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out‑of‑hours security provision if applicable.
  • Complete documents as required, including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site‑specific reports.
  • Be familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
  • Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal so that your skills remain up to date, including first aid and fire marshal training in accordance with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism; your SIA licence must always be displayed.
