** Operations Supervisor

** The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of the Company’s transportation requirements and patterns. They will review and process day to day operations that are required by the location.
*
* What You’ll Do:

*** Providing direct supervision of all drivers, ensuring ongoing training requirements, discipline and procedural implementation
* Working alongside the Operations Manager and the Recruiting Team to maintain adequate staffing levels, including participating in interviews and pre-employment Road Tests
* Working alongside the Dispatcher daily to ensure routes are completed efficiently and accurately
* Conducting ongoing observational behaviour assessments/driver training to uncover any performance issues, and creating an action plan to correct
* Tracking ongoing service/driver issues and documenting any discipline required
* Attaining all the necessary information regarding any issues by maintaining courteous, prompt and efficient customer relations.
* Organizing and approving payroll and driver vacation requests
* Ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all workers, and reporting any related issues immediately to the Operations Manager
* Ensuring company policy, systems, and industry related training is delivered to all drivers as needed
* Performing Accident Investigations when company vehicles are involved in traffic accidents or incidents
* Other duties as assigned

* What We’re Looking For:

*** 2+ years of supervisory experience, ideally with a large team
* Preference will be given to those candidates with experience working with Residential or Commercial collection, transportation, and/or Operations.
* General understanding of, WHMIS and the Highway Traffic Act.
* Proficiency with performing pre- and post-trip inspections, as well as accident investigations
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Capability to plan, prioritize and execute against tight timelines.
* Intermediate database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills within a Microsoft environment
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence.
* Willing to work flexible hours.
