Your main responsibilities

Enhance, develop and mobilize the team of professionals and technicians;

Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules;

Plan, assign, coordinate and supervise work, projects and activities performed by the team;

Chair regular communication and meetings for the team;

Help manage the training plans and career development of employees;

Provide effective leadership, direction and support for members of the team;

Assist in recruitment of professionals;

Work with project managers to ensure that projects are set up and executed in full compliance with quality standards and regulations;

Determine areas of potential improvement and direct the implementation of change to address these areas;

Build and/or support client relationships at the appropriate level, working in conjunction with the senior leadership team;

Prepare detailed proposals for Geotechnical/Pavements Engineering projects with planned scope of work and fees;

Implement up-to-date business processes;

Act as a senior professional in various projects;

Apply and promote Englobe’s health and safety rules.

What makes you unique

University Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering;

Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO);

A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the field of geotechnical/pavement engineering and/or construction quality control and material testing;

Experience managing a portfolio or projects and a team of project engineers and/or civil technicians;

Familiarity of engineering practices and North American based knowledge and experience in a consulting environment; is essential with a proven ability to obtain business from clients;

Proven success in managing and executing engineering investigations and research, conducting evaluations and analytical work and adhering to project budgets and objectives;

An understanding of basic accounting principles and personnel management is a definite asset;

Results oriented, self-motivated, forward-thinking individual possessing strong interpersonal abilities. Strong leadership, time management and team building skills are essential to meet the expectations of our supportive and proactive organization. We value and reward the ability to get the job done;

Ability to demonstrate that you are well organized, show initiative and are eager to learn;

Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and co-workers and provide technical leadership to staff;
