CI Engineer

Job description

Hire Art is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a CI Engineer to be responsible for monitoring and supporting the critical CI integration gates, ensuring the development lifecycle can proceed without interruptions.

In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing feedback to engineers, helping to restore and maintain the health of the codebase.

We're looking for candidates with 2-4 years of experience in an SRE or Dev Ops role. You have expertise in at least one major CI platform and are familiar with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).

As a CI Engineer, you'll:

Administer and maintain the infrastructure (e.g., build agents, runners, CI images, and worker pools) that powers the CI system.

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable CI pipelines for a diverse set of software use cases.

Diagnose and resolve complex CI failures, dependency issues, and performance bottlenecks within the CI environment.

Work alongside CI platform engineers to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of the CI platform.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

2-4 years of experience in an SRE or Dev Ops role

Expertise with at least one major CI platform (Build Kite, Jenkins, GHA, etc.)

Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), including resource provisioning, autoscaling configuration, and block storage management

Solid understanding of containerization and Docker

Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for build automation

Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on experience with Buildkite

Experience with modern build tools (e.g., Bazel, Gradle)

Experience with source control systems, particularly Git

Experience working in a monorepo environment

Strong communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional environment

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite (potentially hybrid requiring 3 days a week onsite) and available to candidates who are local to the Foster City, CA area.
