You’ll partner closely with IT and Facilities teams to ensure secure, well-organized, and reliable technical environments across offices and operational sites.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoys working hands-on in the field. You’re comfortable supporting physical infrastructure projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and adapting to changing on-site needs.

As an IT Field Technician, you'll:

  • Mount, organize, and maintain network and server racks, including switches, routers, and UPS systems.
  • Install and configure IP cameras, access control systems, and related hardware.

  • Perform basic network troubleshooting and connectivity testing.
  • Coordinate with IT Support to ensure systems are online, secure, and properly configured.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of cabling, hardware, and installation components.
  • Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with low-voltage cabling, structured cabling, or IT infrastructure installations
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switches, routers, patching, and cable standards
  • Experience installing IP cameras and/or access control systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a focus on physical workspace safety
  • Ability to lift and mount equipment, work on ladders, and perform installations in varied environments
  • Collaborative, reliable, and comfortable working in fast-paced technical operations
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Benefits:
  • Pre-tax commuter benefits
  • Employer (Hire Art) subsidized Healthcare Benefits
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
  • Hire Art covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
  • 401k package
  • Commitment: This is a full-time, 1-year contract position (with the possibility of extension) staffed via Hire Art. It will be onsite and available to candidates local to the Austin, TX area.
