About the Role:

As a Senior Solutions Engineer (SE) at F5, you will serve as a trusted technical architect and strategic advisor to Fortune 500 enterprises and fast-growing digital innovators. Working in close partnership with the Sales Director and our Enterprise/Commercial Account teams across North America, your high-level objective is to design, champion, and sell modern F5 application delivery and security solutions across multi-cloud, hybrid, and edge environments to achieve allocated sales targets.

Today, F5 secures and delivers over half of the world’s application traffic. In this role, you will help shape the next chapter of global application infrastructure- protecting mission-critical workloads, orchestrating cloud-native API architectures, and enabling enterprise AI initiatives with secure, high-performance foundations. What You'll Do:

• Strategic Technical Partnership:
  Partner with CISOs, Cloud Architects, and Platform Engineering leaders, translating complex business goals into resilient, scalable architectural blueprints.
• Guide Customer Modernization Journeys:
  Empower our established enterprise customer base to evolve their trusted BIG-IP foundations into agile, modern hybrid architectures-seamlessly bridging established data-center infrastructure with distributed cloud and containerized environments.
• Architect Modern App Delivery & Security:
  Lead technical discovery, design validations, and solution demonstrations across Web Application & API Protection (WAAP), proactive Bot Defense, DDoS mitigation, and Zero Trust access.
• Enable Cloud-Native & AI Transformation:
  Help organizations modernize traffic management, Kubernetes ingress patterns, and emerging AI inference pipelines and AI Gateway architectures.
• Bridge the Gap between Security and Developer Velocity:
  Demonstrate automated, declarative workflows using Infrastructure-as-Code (such as Terraform or Ansible) and CI/CD pipelines, bringing Net Ops, Sec Ops, and Dev Ops together.
• Drive Technical Alignment:
  Lead the technical evaluation process with clarity and empathy, identifying customer priorities and validating F5's differentiated value in competitive environments.
• Collaborate & Influence:
  Share insights from customer engagements with F5's Product and Engineering teams to help shape our distributed cloud and security roadmaps.

What You Bring:

Experience:

• Pre-Sales / Technical Consulting
  
  Experience:
  
  8+ years of experience in pre-sales engineering, systems engineering, technical consulting, or an equivalent customer-aligned systems/solutions architecture role.
• Enterprise Track Record:
  Proven experience supporting and building trust with large enterprise accounts, particularly within high-compliance or highly regulated industries (such as financial services).
• Architectural Storytelling:
  Ability to connect deep technical capabilities to real-world business outcomes, building authentic trust with hands-on engineers and executive leaders alike.
• Cloud
  
  Experience:
  
  Prior experience with modern edge cloud/WAAP platforms, API gateway technologies, or hyperscaler cloud networking practices.
• AI Curiosity:
  Familiarity with securing or optimizing emerging AI workloads, LLM inference endpoints, or modern data services.

Technical Strengths:

• Application Security & API Governance:
  Understanding of Web Application Security, API protection (such as OWASP API Top 10), automated threat mitigation, and Zero Trust principles.
• Cloud-Native & Modern Ingress:
