Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part‑time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.

About the role

The principal responsibility of the Resource Management Planner is to deliver effective resource plans for operational policing to meet the complex needs of a variety of business areas. In particular to:

  • Maintain staffing levels for day‑to‑day policing activities, and for planned/spontaneous operations, to ensure there are sufficient staff on duty at the appropriate locations to meet the predicted demand and, where appropriate, public expectations.
  • Address, report and, if necessary, upscale any shortfalls in staffing levels.
  • Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs), strategic threat and risk assessments (STRAs) or any other agreed staffing levels.
  • Accurately record data in appropriate Force IT Systems to enable the production of effective resource plans.
  • Act as first point of contact for resource management enquiries, providing a professional, courteous service when dealing with requests, issues and complaints received in the Resource Management team.
