About the roleThe principal responsibility of the Resource Management Planner is to deliver effective resource plans for operational policing to meet the complex needs of a variety of business areas. In particular to:
- Maintain staffing levels for day‑to‑day policing activities, and for planned/spontaneous operations, to ensure there are sufficient staff on duty at the appropriate locations to meet the predicted demand and, where appropriate, public expectations.
- Address, report and, if necessary, upscale any shortfalls in staffing levels.
- Adhere to service level agreements (SLAs), strategic threat and risk assessments (STRAs) or any other agreed staffing levels.
- Accurately record data in appropriate Force IT Systems to enable the production of effective resource plans.
- Act as first point of contact for resource management enquiries, providing a professional, courteous service when dealing with requests, issues and complaints received in the Resource Management team.
