Our client, a reputable civil engineering contractor based near Exeter, is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to support their busy commercial and project delivery teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with early experience in buying or procurement who’s eager to progress within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities
Assisting with the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractor services.

Supporting senior buyers with tendering, cost comparisons, and order placement.

Maintaining supplier databases and tracking deliveries.

Helping to ensure materials arrive on site on time and within budget.

Liaising with project teams to understand site requirements.

Contributing to sustainable and cost-effective procurement solutions.

Requirements
Some experience in buying or procurement, ideally within construction or civil engineering.

Strong organisational and communication skills.

Confident with Microsoft Office and procurement systems.

Eager to learn and develop within a supportive team.

Full UK driving licence preferred.
