Infrastructure engineer

Overview

We are seeking a skilled SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's dynamic IT team. This role involves managing and optimizing IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security.

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure solutions.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure uptime and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand infrastructure needs and deliver appropriate solutions.
• Automate processes and deployments to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Conduct regular system audits and performance evaluations.
• Document infrastructure configurations, processes, and procedures.

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and on-premises infrastructure.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible).
• Familiarity with networking concepts, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CCNA).
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Storage Systems from vendors such as Dell EMC, IBM, DDN, Net App
  Underpinning virtualisation via VMware
  Centralised Backup and Restore Service for the company (now a hybrid solution hosted on on-premise storage and AWS
  Mainframes hosting a variety of critical Linux and z/OS based services
  Data archiving

SC Cleared Infrastructure Engineer

Exeter - 1 day per week

£600pd

6 Month Contract

The role will include managing these on-premise based services and increasingly, over time, cloud-based solutions.
