The Role: The consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Technician to provide detailed technical support and produce high quality and accurate outputs. This role would best suit a technician who enjoys stable, consistent work, is passionate about technical delivery, and takes satisfaction from accurate execution and supporting the engineering team, as opposed to pursuing managerial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities- Produce and issue detailed drawings using CAD and BIM tools
- Model and detail structures in Tekla, Revit, or equivalent software as required by project scope
- Prepare and check reinforcement and connection details, schedules and material lists
- Convert engineer designs into constructible drawings and produce clear markups for site teams
- Undertake site surveys and setting out checks and record site observations accurately
- Coordinate drawing revisions and maintain document control for project deliverables
- Work closely with engineers, architects and contractors to resolve technical queries
- Carry out quality checks on technician outputs and provide practical support to junior technicians
- Maintain standards and templates to ensure consistent and efficient drafting practice
- Support project delivery to agreed programme and assist with handover documentation
- Relevant technical qualification or equivalent experience in structural drafting and detailing
- Proven experience working as a structural technician or detailer within consultancy
- Competent in Tekla, Revit or AutoCAD and able to produce accurate fabrication drawings
- Practical understanding of all primary structural materials
- Strong attention to detail, methodical approach and good organisational skills
- Reliable communicator capable of liaising with site teams and design engineers
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
- Passion for the technical and a keen eye for detail
- Circa £45,000 salary, pro rata for part time work
