Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical / Geoenvironmental Consultant to join our delivery of contaminated land and ground engineering services across a diverse range of projects in sectors including renewables, defence, justice, commercial, and residential.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate closely with other disciplines across Stantec to support clients through all stages of a project’s lifecycle.
- Perform preliminary risk assessments, scope ground investigations, and interpret field data.
- Produce interpretative reports, remediation method statements, geotechnical design reports, and provide construction phase support.
- Lead supervision, reporting and management of geo projects.
- Prepare clear, concise, and technically robust reports tailored to client needs.
- Contribute to innovative systems and alternative approaches to manage ground risk in karstic environments, slope stability, and remediation of brownfield sites.
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety and environmental protection during ground investigations.
- Good working knowledge of relevant and up‑to‑date British Standards (e.g., BS EN 5930), Industry Guidance (e.g., EA LCRM) and NHBC Standards.
- Self‑motivated team player with excellent communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- A BSc, MSc, BEng or higher qualification in Environmental Science, Geology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or Earth Sciences.
- Substantial post‑graduate experience in the geo industry.
- Experience in managing and supervising geo projects.
Our Geo team collaborates closely with other disciplines across Stantec to support clients through all stages of a project’s lifecycle. We are located in our Exeter office at the Science Park off the M5 Jct 29, a modern, collaborative, and agile working space with panoramic views over east Devon and a recently opened gym. The team works on innovative projects involving ground risk management in karstic environments, slope stability and remediation of brownfield sites across the south‑west.
