We are inviting engineers and support specialists with experience in the highways, bridges and related infrastructure sectors to express interest in working with our Local Government Highways and Bridges team based in Exeter, Devon. The role is an opportunity to register interest and we will consider your background, experience and fit to upcoming projects and vacancy opportunities within the team.

Our team provides highways design and consultancy services for local authority clients within the South‑West region. We support local authorities to deliver improvements for local communities, prioritise Active and Healthy Travel modes and care about mobility across the transport network. Recent projects include highway capacity and safety improvements, bus lane provision and bridge strengthening.

• A range of project experience, most likely focused on highway, traffic and civil engineering projects.
• A proven ability to act in client-facing roles and maintain good client relationships.
• Proven working knowledge of key UK highways design guidance such as the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets and Traffic Signs Manuals.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence in engaging with clients, stakeholders and colleagues.
• A passion for innovation and development – whether that be your own development or the mentoring of other team members.
• Commitment to health, safety and welfare of yourself and team members.
