Charge Nurse​/Senior Operating Department Practitioner

Role Summary

We require a professional, flexible, motivated and committed person who is capable of leading a team and delivering high quality, patient‑focussed care within a busy, progressive and varied department. The post holder will be based within the Gynaecology and Obstetric Speciality and alongside the Clinical Nurse Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the theatres.

Ideally you will have Gynaecology theatre experience or related specialities and a willingness to learn.

We have 2 Gynaecology theatres and 1 obstetric theatre within the department and cover the emergency obstetric service 24hrs a day.

We work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in theatre and the wider hospital, to provide safe and effective care to patients. There is a strong emphasis on team work and we pride ourselves on the standards we maintain within the unit.

We carry out a wide range of Gynaecological surgery including robotic, major oncological surgery and laparoscopic procedures. We also work closely with the maternity services to provide care to women undergoing caesarean section and other obstetric procedures.

We are looking for a self‑motivated and compassionate individual to help provide the highest standards of care for the women in our unit.
