About the Opportunity – What You’ll Do
Throughout your journey, you’ll wear many hats and take on exciting challenges, although each rotation may require different skills from you, they will include:
- Building expertise in Digital and IT Services.
- You will learn both cloud & legacy based ways of working, providing you an all rounded view of Technology in Higher Education
- Learn skills in our tech stack which includes: AWS, Typescript, Flutter, Microservices, API and Devops as well as legacy systems.
- Collaborating with specialist teams and colleagues across the University.
- Proactively seeking information and maintaining strong relationships.
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting data, providing recommendations.
- Identifying and resolving issues swiftly.
- Effectively communicating project updates, timelines, and risks.
- Participating in working groups and contributing.
- Collaborating with stakeholders and making joint decisions.
- Providing administrative support when needed.
- Completing a Management Accreditation course.
- Becoming a mentor for the new cohort in your second year.

The University offers a huge array of wellbeing support for all employees too.
Your Journey
- Year 1:
Exploring Possibilities - In your first year, you'll dive into the excitement of supporting the delivery of three projects. Each rotation lasts for four months, and you'll work closely with a dedicated Graduate Scheme Placement Supervisor, your go‑to person for support and guidance. You'll be an integral part of the Digital & IT Services Divisions, collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to achieve key goals.
- In your second year, you'll deepen your expertise by supporting two projects, each for a six‑month duration. You'll take on more leadership responsibilities by becoming a mentor of the following cohort, you’ll be proactive in making decisions based on experience as you gain further opportunities to shine and demonstrate your leadership skills, whilst still building your technical skills.
