Main duties of the job

You will have good database and spreadsheet skills and your ability to organise and prioritise your workload in a logical and methodical way will be key. You will need to be calm and approachable, have an excellent telephone manner, and be able to concentrate despite frequent interruptions. It is vital you can work well alone as well as part of a team.

You should have a good general education with the equivalent of 5 GCSE Grade 4 (level

C) or above and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience of working in a busy dynamic office environment is desirable.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • Ensure full knowledge of all local and national protocols and follow all protocols for dealing with administration processes within Diabetic Eye Screening and assist any support staff in coordinating their workload.
  • Have a clear understanding of the performance indicators the Trust must meet, both local and national, and take the necessary steps to ensure these are not undermined.
  • Participate in a rotational plan to support the management of Brighton and Sussex Diabetic Eye Screening Programme administration team and, if required, the other teams in the service.
