Road Surfacing Supervisor – South Scotland

As a Road Surfacing Supervisor, you will bring proven experience within the surfacing industry and be responsible for managing a range of surfacing contracts at site level.

• Managing surfacing schemes across motorway and local road networks, ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Communicating effectively with gangs and Forepersons through daily briefings and regular on-site presence
• Managing site paperwork and administrative tasks in line with business management systems
• Planning and supervising site operations to ensure works are completed to specification and the highest quality standards
• Identifying works outside the contract scope and reporting them to the Surfacing Manager or Quantity Surveyor
• Optimising cost control and operational efficiency to achieve agreed budgets
• Motivating and leading site teams to deliver high levels of performance
• Developing and maintaining strong customer relationships

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate solid experience within the road surfacing industry and a strong track record of supervising site-based teams.

• A valid CSCS qualification
• SMSTS (preferred) or SSSTS (minimum)
• Experience in asphalt and road laying, with a good understanding of the Specification for Highways Works and BS
• Experience delivering project work, including motorway schemes (desirable)
• Proven experience supervising, developing and motivating teams
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage effectively at all levels
• A thorough understanding of and commitment to Health & Safety standards
• Flexibility in your working approach, including night and weekend working when required
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• A motivated, proactive, and professional attitude
